KCR to erase NTR’s mark on Hyderabad

A cabinet committee headed deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari has decided that the sprawling NTR gardens should be replaced by a Dr Babasabhe Ambedkar park. The government had taken a decision to develop a 36 acre Ambedkar park as a major tourist attraction in the state capital, at the spot where the NTR gardens exists. Only the NTR ghat will remain. In the same park, the government is planning to put up a 125 ft Ambedkar statue. The gigantic statue will be unveiled there by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on April 14,2017. Ambedkar is being used to erase NTR memory since opposition will find it difficult to oppose some thing related to Ambedkar. Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao feels that it is important to free Hyderabad from the grip of Andhra cultural domination. The government is planning to rename all other landmarks in Andhra leaders’ memorial one after the other, with minimum controversies. The exercise will intensify once AP government shifts its administration to Amaravati.
