Andhra Pradesh will be supply 24X7 Power supply to six industrial areas in the state – Vishakapatnam, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Sri City, Krishnapatnam and Tirupati from next April. This power supply some with not even a one minute power interruption with dedicated lines and infrastructure.
Industries will have to shell an extra 20 Paise per unit for this facility. If the government could not keep up the promise of uninterrupted supply, it will be returning the extra charge at the year end. The extra charge collected under this scheme will be used for power infrastructure development at the same areas.
According to the data, Andhra Pradesh is facing a power interruption of 6000 minutes an year. Considering that this is a challenge for the state discoms. This step if successful will bring up more investments to the state.
