A luxury apartment in Hong Kong is reportedly sold at a whooping price of 594.7 Million Hong Kong Dollars just a few days before Christmas eve. It translates into approximately 76.7 Million in USD terms.
The price makes it not only the costliest flat in the city but supposedly in entire Asian continent. This 5,732 Square Feet gargantuan (532 Sq. mts) duplex unit is situated on the 46th Floor of the Conduit Road Apartment Tower in South Chinese city's upmarket Mid-levels residential area.
The buyer has purchased the property at an estimated cost of 102,900 HKD per Square feet (8.8 Lakhs INR approximately). It has a humongous 1754 Square Feet of roof top which overlooks the prominent Victoria Harbor and was initially listed at 656.8 Million Hong Kong Dollars on the developer Henderson Land Properties website.
The price paid by the buyer took analysts by surprise as the Real-estate in Hong Kong is in a downwards trend currently. They commented that this was a stand-alone deal and does not indicate recovery trend in the markets which are expected to stay at current levels for ensuing couple of years.
Whatsoever, this seems to be a magnanimous Christmas gift and will give the owners a real reason to celebrate.
