Some time ago, YSR Congress Party announced contesting all the 150 divisions in GHMC elections. They have also conducted first of its kind interviews to candidates for selection. However no activity since then in the party.
It is said that Jagan gave up hope on the elections with the ruling party making inroads even in settler areas and whatever left will go to the TDP-BJP combine and Congress. Jagan sees no point in working in the polls as it will only resulting in losing money over already lost elections.
And so, the party is likely to refrain from the contest. If at all any candidate is interested in contesting, they will have to bear all the expenses from their own pocket. They will get no help from the party except for lending the party name and symbol.
