The Supreme Court has directed the Tihar Jail authorities to provide him special facilities like a conference room, wi-fi, laptops, two landline phones, one cell phone, water and electricity so that Subrata Roy can raise money for his bail.

Subrata Roy paid the Tihar Jail authorities Rs. 1.23 crore towards the facilities provided to him for one year and a pending amount of Rs. 7.5 lakhs is yet to be paid by Subrata Roy and he was shifted to a regular prison cell last month.

Subrata Roy and the Sahara Group's directors Ravi Shankar Dubey and Ashok Rai Choudary have been serving a jail term after they failed to pay Rs. 20,000 crore to their depositors. Subrata Roy was later granted bail subject to payment of bail amount of Rs. 10,000 crore, half in cash and half through bank guarantee.
