Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao recently announced the launch of prestigious Hyderabad Metro Rail first phase on June 2 which marks Telangana formation day. However, L&T project developer made it clear that first phase launch is not possible anywhere near.
Outgoing MD of the L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail V B Gadgil told media on Wednesday that the work is expected to be delayed by almost 18 months. He admitted that there was a proposal to launch first phase by the said above date but lot of civil work is yet in pending stages.
Going by the latest estimation, the project is likely to be completed by December 2018. The company is now discussing with the government on the delay and possible financial implications on the project. This is surely a setback for KCR and his team.
