Indian behind world's cheapest phone

Mohit Goel was not quite a familiar name in our country until few days ago, but this young entrepreneur has shot to fame overnight by launching an indigenously developed feature rich smartphone for astoundingly low price tag of INR 251. This young lad hails from a remote village called Garhipuktha in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh.

Mohit's father is owner of a petty grocery store in the village and doesn't comprehend much about the brand launch of his son. But he feels proud of Mohit while explaining the story behind the launch of Freedom 251 launch. Mohit has done his schooling in the small village and always used to dream big.

He went to the renowned Amity University(Noida) for his graduation. He asked father Rajesh Goel to lend him some money explaining his idea to develop the world's cheapest smartphone. Reposing faith in his idea, Rajesh lent some money to his son and now he feels extremely elated hearing the announcement of Freedom 251.

There was a glitzy event in Delhi for launch of this phone and many famous personalities were guests of honour including a few people from Shamli district. Goel's were known only by few people in their own village but launch of Freedom smartphone gained them instant popularity not only in their locality but all over the country.

It remains to be seen whether the young entrepreneur would be successful in his endeavors to complete the final deliveries at the committed price of INR. 251.
