Kalam in 2006 wanted to resign as President

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, 11 President of India, a scientist and teacher till his last breath. According to latest information from the then Press secretary of the President SM Khan, Dr. Kalam wanted to resign to his Presidential post in 2006. SM Khan talking at SOA university in a lecture titled "My days with the Greatest Human Soul Ever" shared this with his audience.

"Kalam wanted to resign his post after the supreme court quashed the presidential proclamation to dissolve the Bihar assembly" Khan further said  "Kalam was initially reluctant to sign the Proclamation as it is but after the then Bihar Governer Buta singh recommended that the assembly be dissolved, the union cabinet approved it and forwarded it to the president for his approval while he was on his visit to Moscow" he shared.

"After the SC rejected the Proclamation, Kalam  who regretted his approval of cabinets decision, also wanted to resign from his office and called his brother in Rameshwaram regarding the same" SM khan recalled. However Kalam refrained from doing so as it would create a constitutional Crisis he said.
