Rahul, Priyanka in CM Race?

Well-known political strategist Prashanth Kishor said to have advised Congress president Sonia Gandhi to announce either Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Chopra or any other Brahmin as CM candidate in the UP Assembly elections. Given that Congress is losing badly in polls of late and struggling to make a comeback, Prashanth after extensive research told Congress top brass that its chances would improve if it wins Brahmins who're 13 per cent of the state's population.

Also, there is a growing opinion among several leaders in UP Congress that the party's fortunes would overturn only if either of the Gandhis - Priyanka or Rahul- takes the centrestage in the state polls.

Beleaguered Congress is contemplating to do a massive rejig of the state leadership ahead of polls and would likely to announce a Brahmin CM candidate. However, so far, there is no hint from the Congress top brass that it is inclined to filed any of the Gandhis as the face of UP polls.

For the beginners, Prashant Kishor was the crucial strategist behind BJP's political campaign before 2014 general elections and the man behind PM Narendra Modi's swooshing victory. He's the one who helped Nitish Kumar in Bihar elections and presently working as adviser to Nitish Kumar on Policies and Program Implementation.

On other hand, there's a talk doing the rounds that Prashanth is smartly making moves to make Rahul as UP CM candidate thus making a way for Nitish Kumar as the PM candidate in the 2019 elections. Let's wait and see.
