The measures taken by CM Chandrababu Naidu to generate as much revenue as possible for the capital-less state is yielding good results already. Present situation is such that revenue earnings of Andhra Pradesh were more than that of Telangana. Except for Transport Department, all the other sectors in AP generated more revenue to the exchequer through taxes than Telangana State.
As per statistics, AP ranked only second in the country when it comes to Sales Tax collection. Whereas, Telangana just managed the 9th position. While AP's Commercial Tax earnings stood at Rs 28,328 crore, Telangana received Rs 27,681 crore.
Experts say, Naidu's experience and vision is coming handy here. Having more business centers such as Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Tirupathi and Kakinada is an added advantage for AP. On the other hand, Telangana is only relying on Hyderabad for now. Who knows, KCR may develop Warangal, Medak and Nalgonda as major centers in the coming years.
