Mass Killings In US College, 9 Dead

Mass Killings is what worrying USA. In the latest incident, a young gunman of 20 years old opened fire at a community college in southern Oregon on Thursday, killing at least nine people and wounding seven others before police shot him to death. This mass killing has shaken not just the American campus, but the entire country.

The shocking incident took place in Snyder Hall at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg around 10:30 a.m. local time (1730 GMT). The gunman was not immediately identified. But the police are still investigating his motives. Three handguns and a long gun belonging to him were recovered from the scene.

As per an eye witness, the shooter wore jeans and a t-shirt, carrying a handgun as he went into the campus. He fired 35 to 40 shots.

President Barack Obama, speaking just hours after the rampage, said the mass killing should move Americans to demand greater gun controls from elected officials. "Somehow this has become routine. The reporting is routine. My response here, at this podium, ends up being routine. ...We've become numb to this," a visibly angry Obama said.

The bloodbath is the latest in a series of mass shootings at US college campuses, movie theatres, military bases and churches in recent years and marked the deadliest since a shooting rampage in June at a South Carolina church that killed nine.
