In his first big move to develop film industry in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu will be laying the foundation stone of the Film Nagar Cultural Society (FNCS) tomorrow at Vaarija Ashram near Kapuluppada on the Bheemili-Visakhapatnam Road.
The FNCS will be developed in a sprawling 15 acres on a hilltop near the Navy property and it will feature a convention hall, hotels and other structures in a phased manner. Already, the government had sanctioned land to legendary producer late D Rama Naidu, who already built a film studio at Timmapuram.
Likewise, senior actors like Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu and several have also expressed interest in constructing film studios and the revenue department has already carried out an inspection on the beach road to locate possible lands.
Ever since the state division, there have been discussions that the film industry will be relocated to Vizag. However, this could only be seen as a major extension of Tollywood and not a relocation.
