Immigrants all over the nation have stayed at home on Thursday protesting against the President Trump's immigration policies. A day without immigrants was held as part of the grassroots protest. The companies from several industries took part in the protest. But, the effect was immediately felt on restaurants. As per 2015 data available, immigrants account for 7.1 million of the nation’s restaurant workers. The protest was organised is to push back against President’s Trump immigration policies and to show the importance of immigrants to American society.
