Rs.2000 fine for using water before 8:30AM!

India is set to witness one of the worst water crises it has ever seen over the years. The state of Maharashtra is facing severe drought and the crops in this region got affected due to the water crisis. It is a noted fact that the Mumbai High Court issued notices to BCCI to move IPL matches out of the state just because of the water crisis.

Now, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has decided to impose ban on people who misuse water. Watering plants and washing cars during 5:30AM to 8:30AM is now considered as a crime in Chandigarh. It seems that the Municipal Corporation fixed the fine amount to Rs.2000/- for the people who violate this rule.

Residents of Chandigarh were advised to use buckets instead of pipes to wash their cars. 18 teams were specially appointed to check this every morning and to impose fine on the violators. This starts from 15th April and will continue till 30th June. If things goes well, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation may continue this plan further to save water.
