National Media is abuzz with the reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah are keen to keep Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh as BJP’s Chief Minister candidate in Uttar Pradesh.
Reportedly, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah placed the proposal before Rajnath Singh during the budget session of Parliament. However, Mr.Singh wasn’t keen on the offer and hence he hasn’t given his consent so far.
It is also almost confirmed that Rajnath will not continue as home minister which strengthens the rumours. There is talk about BJP considering Smriti Irani’s name for Chief Ministerial candidate in Uttar Pradesh. It is to be seen who gets the opportunity.
