The state government had finally increased the cost estimation of Polavaram head works. The project costs are now increased by 2000 Crore. With this decision, Polavaram works are likely to speed up.
The state government already allowed the contractor to enter in to agreement for expert companies if needed as sub-contractors. All these decisions will ensure, the much delayed project picks pace.
But Naidu may have rubbed Center on the wrong side. Polavaram is a national project and decisions like this are to be taken by the center. Modi government will not take the decisions to speed up the project work and definitely would not like to see state government taking proactive steps in this issue.
