Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and the state's Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao escaped a major fire accident that took place in Mumbai's Girguam Chowpatty during a Marathis' favorite Lalwani dance performance at the #MakeInIndia event this evening.
A small spark under the stage quickly turned into a huge fire ball thanks to the fanning winds and set the entire stage ablaze in minutes. The CM and the Governor and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray were rescued unhurt in the accident. 14 fire engines brought the fire down.
All dancers and performers backstage were immediately escorted outside within minutes after the fire broke. No casualties have been reported. CM Devendra Fadnavis has ordered for a thorough enquiry into the unexpected accident.
