Irom Sharmila prepares for polls with crowd-funding; Manipur's 'iron lady'

Irom Sharmila, ended her 16-year long fasting last year and declared that she would participate in polls. She will be contesting against Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi Singh, in the next month's polls. However, Sharmila is being supported by crowd-funding for organising her election campaign. A number of agencies like Khetto of Mumbai are funding her. It has become necessary to do this, in a corruption rife society of Manipur. In fact, Sharmila's whole campaign is against corruption. She went on a long fast demanding withdrawal of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSA).
