Luxury car import; cases against Sasikala's husband in HC
Madras High Court (HC) will give a verdict on the case of tax evasion against Sasikala's husband, Natarajan, on February 27th. Natarajan had imported a Lexus car (Mercedes Benz) in 1994 and evaded payment of excise duty on it. Also, he evaded Rs. 1 cr tax to the IT department. Enforcement Director (ED) had taken up this case, which was later dealt by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The latter has urged Madras HC to hasten the case. Another case of illegal drugs trafficking is pending against Sasikala's nephew, Dinakaran. If they are convicted, both are expected to join Sasikala in jail.
