Devudu Chesina Manushulu is the latest product from Puri Jagannadh, who has been on a mission to do films at a breathtaking pace. After Businessman he comes up with Raviteja, Ileana starrer, which has a fantasy touch to it. DCM didn't create much buzz due to weak audio and poor publicity. However, releasing on a public holiday helped the film to take a good opening.

What is it about?

Raviteja (Raviteja) and Ileana (Ileana) are two orphans created by Lord Vishnu (Brahmanandam). They both are born and brought up in India and Thailand respectively. Raviteja is a mediator and Ileana is a cab driver. How this couple meets and falls in love is the story of this film.

Performances:

Raviteja's energy is missing in this film. Perhaps this is due to poor character etching. He tried to make some moments work, but they are too far between. Ileana is presented in a hot chick avatar. She is okay. Prakash Raj's character is designed in a funny way. His character turns into laughing stock in the second half. Brahmanandam and Kovai Sarala are okay. Ali is fine in some scenes. Subbaraju and others did their part.

On the Technical Front:

Raghu Kunche's music is not up to the mark. All the songs are like gap fillers. None of the songs will be remembered once you leave the theater. Background score is pretty bad. Raghu reminds you of Chakri with his background score. Cinematography is not good. It is a rare bad output from Shyam K Naidu. Editing is weak and so is the production design. Producer invested big bucks in this film which was mostly filmed in Bangkok. However, the quality is missing on screen.

Puri Jagan's bad form continues with this film. Although his previous film Businessman was a commercial hit, his work received flak. This time Puri delivers one of his weakest products. He failed in each and every department. Puri should stop doing films at this speed as it is not giving him breathing space let alone thinking.

Analysis:

Devudu Chesina Manushulu screenplay is loosely based on Sliding Doors. The idea of repeating the same story in second hour is lifted from Run Lola Run. To make a commercial film with such innovative ideas is a daunting task. Had he spent some time on the script, DCM could have been way better.

Story and premise is the same in first and second hours. Only situations change. This is a sort of experiment, but lacked the kick to grab the interest of the viewers. First half is better as there is some graph to it and characters don't behave in an eccentric way. In the name of comedy, the director tried to tweak the characters and it didn't work.

Prakash Raj's character turns annoying towards the end. Even Ileana too responds to him in the same manner. Last thirty minutes is absolute pain to watch. There are few fun moments between Ali and Brahmanandam and also between Raviteja and Ileana. On a whole Devudu Chesina Manushulu disappoints with weak script.

Raviteja's recent outings have been very bad and DCM will end up as one of his forgettable flicks. Let us see how audiences react to this film with no brains.

Verdict: God... These People are annoying!
