Telangana goes online for KCR’s pet scheme

Giving three acres to poor is one of the pet schemes of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Since the demand is high, the state government has to purchase lands to cater the needs of landless poor in the state. The government had opened a portal seeking offers from private landowners who wish to sell their properties.

Centre for Good Governance for the TS SC Cooperative Development Corporation Limited designed and developed the site, http://lplds.cgg.gov.in. The land owners can simply login and enter their land details and the expected rate. The officials will visit the site and as well as contact the land owner.

They will make an offer according to the prevailing market price, if every thing goes well, the transaction will be complete. This is a revolutionary concept and can be extended to other areas as well. So far, 315 landowners have opted to sell 4,035.35 acres of land in the state.
