Signal-Free Roads Soon in Hyderabad!

The City of Pearls, Hyderabad, is all set to have signal-free roads. In order to have smooth flow of traffic, the state government of Telangana is toying with the idea of building multi-level flyovers across the city. As per reports, the multi-level flyovers would be constructed at crucial 54 junctions in the city under the Strategic Roads Development Project (SRDP).

IT and Panchayat Raj Minister KT Rama Rao confirmed the same and said that the state government would seek funds from the Central government for the same. KTR along with Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and Deputy CM Mahmood Ali laid foundation stones for different facets of the project at KBR park, Kukatpally and other places. It's estimated that a whopping Rs 20,000 Crore would cost for implementing the Strategic Roads Development Project.

Apart from construction of multi-level flyovers under the project, the government will also construct skyways on the outskirts of the city, said KTR. He added that Telangana government is going to contruct night shelters for beggars, double-bed room flats for poor people and community function halls in colonies. He said, "To have a clean city, we had already distributed over 42 Lakh dust bins and 2000 auto-trolleys for waste management in the city," said KTR. Bandaru Dattatreya too said that he would try to bring more funds from the Central to develop the city.

Going by all these statements, it's clear that TRS is leaving no stone unturned to grab the hog light in the upcoming GHMC elections.
