The YSRCP Chief YS Jagan seems to be working on a masterplan to counter attack the AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu with his only trump card to push Babu to a corner, the special status issue. As per the buzz in the political circles, Jagan is contemplating resigning from his MLA post demanding special status.
"Along with Jagan, all the YSRCP MLAs and MPs are also set for mass resignations," say the sources. However, several legislative leaders are also worried about their chances of winning in the by-polls. They are not sure if they can capitalize on the special status issue since a majority of the people has already come to terms with the centre's U-turn in the special status promise.
Also, Jagan's hunger strike demanding special status also did not incite any fervor among the people. In past too, YSRCP's protests regarding loan waiver, students fees reimbursement and land pooling failed to make any impact on the people and the TDP government, pushing the YSRCP leaders into further apprehensions.
Apart from the past setbacks, Jagan is still reeling under the severe criticism he has been facing for his absence at the Amaravati inaugural ceremony. With Chandrababu's archrival KCR attending the event, Jagan has been cornered. Jagan desperately needs an elixir to revive his party's strengths in countering Chandrababu.
