Recently an advocate filed a complaint on CEO of online portal Askmebazaar for duping customers and on actors Ranbir Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar for promoting the portal. Now, something reversely happened to it.
A Hyderabad guy has conned one of the biggest e-commerce websites- Flipkart, simply sitting at home. The man named Veera Swamy (32) hailing from Vanasthalipuram tricked the company of Rs 20 lakhs by misusing the returns policy of it.
Veera Swamy used to place the order of valuable electronics from the portal in the name of his mother, father, wife, brothers and other known people in the neighborhood with different email IDs and dissimilar account numbers. After receiving the items he ordered for, this man would call up the customer care centre and complain about quality of the products.
Swamy would keep the original item received and pack the box with fake items. He cleverly used original details of the actual product on the return receipt. Once the returned items reached the Flipkart dealer, the money used to be credited back to the respective accounts.
So far, Veera Swamy duped the company of Rs 20 lakhs in just 20 months by making more than 200 purchases from the online portal. Following which, the Flipkart officials in Hyderabad have filed a complaint on Swamy with local police.
