The plantation programmes taken by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu have become the benchmark for the performance of the two state governments.
Giving a tough competition to KCR's Haritha Haram, Naidu has launched Vanam - Manam aiming to transform the entire state into a green cover by planting saplings at all vacant government lands and public institutions.
Following the footsteps of TS government, the AP government is also supplying medicinal plants and fruit bearing saplings to people free of cost.
Naidu also roped in the entire administration in the plantation programme for the next two weeks. he also announced awards for the best performing officials and warned action against those who failed to achieve the targets.
