Naidu's 'arch rival' to be next AP BJP Chief!

BJP senior leader and MLC Somu Veerraju, who has been opposing BJP led NDA partner TDP President and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu on many issues, is likely to be appointed as new BJP state unit President for Andhra Pradesh.

Many leaders who met BJP national President Amith Shah in New Delhi backed Veerraju's candidature for the post as the party is seriously planning to strengthen its base in Andhra Pradesh and fight the new election on its own .

Veerraju had recently launched a frontal attack on Naidu for the TDP government's failure in fulfilling the promises and also on special status issue. Veerraju argued the BJP never promised to accord special status to AP after the bifurcation of state.

However, a final decision on appointing Veerajau will be taken only after consulting all party leaders from AP. BJP leaders D Purandheswari, Endowment minister Manikyala Rao and MP Hari Babu were were present in the meeting with Amit Shah. Another BJP leader and minister Kamineni Srinivas conspicuous absence raised many doubts.
