Google street view may not hit streets in India!

Google street view may not hit streets in India. The internet giant which is pursuing this matter with Government of India since, April 2015 after its representative given detailed presentation to Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA).

The MHA put the ball in the Ministry of Defence court. The proposal rolling around the departments and all the departments may not see this as useful by quoting privacy or security concern. Though, Google has said that it will be useful for development of tourism and disaster management but the Government of India in the other view of it may raise the serious security and privacy concern. Already countries like Germany and Greece, Switzerland, Poland and the UK raised privacy concern over Google street view.

In 2011, Google launched the street view of some Indian popular tourist places like Qutub Minar, the Thanjavur temple, the Varanasi riverbank, the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, Nalanda University, Mysore Palace and Chinnaswamy Stadium in partnership with the Tourism Ministry.
