IPL team Royal Challengers Bengaluru which at once stage stood at 7th position in this year’s IPL has now reached to the finals after an impressive win over Gujarat Lions by 4 wickets.
Batting first, Gujarat Lions were shattered with their front line batsmen Brendon McCullum (1) and Aaron Finch (4) departed in the second over off left-arm spinner Abdullah. Raina too fell in quick succession. However, it is Dwayne Smith saved the day for the visitors and posted a competitive score of 158.
RCB which boasts of a destructive batting line up were rattled up by some discipline bowling of Dhawal Kulkarni and Ravindra Jadeja. Dhawal scalped four wickets in his spell where Kohli, KL Rahul and Sachin Baby managed ducks.
But it is AB De villier’s power which took the team home along with Iqbal Abdullah. ABD scored an unbeaten 79 of 47 balls to take his team to finals with 10 balls to spare. De Villiers was adjudged the man of the match for his winning knock.
