Union Human Resources minister Smriti Irani got into a twitter spat with Bihar’s education minister Ashok Choudhary after the latter addressed central minister “Dear”. It all started when Ashok questioned Smriti about new education policies central government has promised to bring in.
“Dear @smritiirani ji, when will we get New Education policy..? When will year 2015 end in your calendar..?” tweeted Ashok Chaudary. Then Smriti found this Dear objectionable. “@AshokChoudhaary mahilaon ko ‘dear’ keh ke kab se sambodhit karne lage Ashokji ?” replied Smriti to which Ashok politely answered that it is not to disrespect her.
“Not to disrespect but educate… Professional emails start with “dear”. @smritiirani Ji Kabhi mudde pe jawab dijiye, don’t circle around it” firmly asked the minister to which Smriti gave answer nowhere near to it. “Bihar is possibly the only state which has not done grass root consultations for the education policy” and the twitter spat continued for a while.
