Isuzu Motor India has discontinued its production at the Hindustan Motor plant in Thiruvallur in Chennai and is shifting its base to Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. The Production at Sri City plant will begin from April.
Isuzu Sri City Plant will begin with an installed capacity of 50,000 units and would be expandable to 1.2 lakh units a year very soon. The Japanese utility vehicle maker is investing 3000 Crore on its Sri City facility.
This new facility in AP will provide nearly 1,500 to 2,000 jobs to the local youth. This is the first and a giant leap in Chandrababu Naidu’s dream to make Nellore-Chennai-Tirupati as the automobile hub on the lines of Tokyo-Kawasaki-Yokohama trio cities.
