Polavaram Project which is considered as the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh is not progressing any where even after getting National Status. The center had promised to reimburse whatever funds spent on it by the state government.
So far the state had spent 1991.33 Crore till September 2015 but only got 345 Crore from the center. It is said that the BJP led central government has an agenda behind delaying this project. The ruling party in Odisha, Biju Janata Dal is opposing this project.
The party MPs are staging protests against the project in Parliament. BJD had good number of MPs in Rajya Sabha who will come handy for the government when crucial bills are put in Rajya Sabha. So as to please them, Modi government is putting the project on back burner.
