Once considered one of the favourite political leaders in Telangana, "Komatireddy brothers" are missing in action in Telangana politics for the last six months.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, elected from Nalgonda Assembly constituency for the consecutive fourth term, and his younger brother and MLC Komatireddy Raja Gopal Reddy have gone into hibernation as they were not seen in any political activity in the state.
Though strong speculations rife that the two brothers would join ruling TRS, the duo stayed away from participating in people's agitations organized by Telangana Congress and also in the development programmes taken up by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Infact, Komatireddy brothers raised a banner of revolt against TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy and also his predecessor P Laxamiah. They alleged the two TPCC Presidents were unfit to the posts. Since they are maintaining strong following in congress as well as among Telangana people, Komatireddy said he would bring Congress into power if TPCC Chief post is given to him in 2019 elections.
Party leaders said, the Reddy brothers met AICC President Sonia Gandhi and other national leaders and convinced them that they would bring Congress to power if one of them are appointed as Telangana Congress chief. However, Reddy brothers are yet to get any assurance from the party high command.
His close aides said, Komatiredry brothers are seriously planning to float a political party consolidating influential Reddy community before elections. They held series of meetings with the two community leaders and are busy in preparing action plan.
