Hyderabad’s US consulate which is the visa issuing centre for students from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana issued the highest number of student Visas than any other consulates in the country. The Consulate issued around 27,000 student visas in the last one year.
Mumbai came second by issuing about 25000 Visas. Chennai stands third with 18,500 visas while Delhi (11,000) and Calcutta (3,700) are in the next positions. These visas totally belong to students and good 10% of them belong to their parents visiting the students in USA.
According to The Open Doors report, published by Institute of International Education in partnership with the US State Department recently revealed that India registered the highest growth rate of sending students to US Universities since 1954-55.
