After battling for life in a critical condition for over 8 days, the 10-year-old Hyderabad girl Ramya, who was fatally injured in an unfortunate car crash at Panjagutta on July 1, has passed away in the hospital last night.
On the fateful afternoon, Ramya was traveling in her car along with her uncle, Pammi Rajesh, her mother Radhika, another uncle and grandfather after getting admitted at St. Ann's School in Class 3. Their Santro was hit by a speeding car allegedly driven by a engineering student named Shravil, who is just about 20 years old.
While Ramya's uncle died on the spot, Ramya, her mother and the two other family members were admitted to a corporate hospital with serious injuries. Ramya was kept on ventilator for a week until she gave up her battle due to internal bleeding in her head. Doctors declared her brain dead as her stem cell reflexes had stopped.
Today, little Ramya's last rites were performed at the Ambarpet graveyard several family members and scores other people bid her a tearful goodbye. Ramya's mother, who is still the hospital, was brought to her daughter on a stretcher and she lost her consciousness upon seeing her lifeless daughter.
Meanwhile, cops booked a case of culpable homicide against Shravil and assured stringent punishment to him.
