Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is mooting the idea of modern policing in Singapore and China for Hyderabad. In those countries, no single police constable is seen on the streets. But if anyone dials the police emergency number, cops arrive on the spot within two-three minutes.
The CM wants similar policing system in Hyderabad by developing a command and control centre by making use of technology like CCTV surveillance. The CM wants to achieve this with the state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre (CCC) for which he laid foundation stone in November.
The government is planning to install 10000 CCTV cameras in Hyderabad at their own expense and another 90,000 to be set up by citizens themselves at their own cost as per the Public Safety Act, 2013. All these cameras will be connected to the Command and Control Centre (CCC) to achieve that Singapore and China like no-man on street police.
