Looks like it is getting increasingly difficult for GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar to stop his posting to Andhra Pradesh. Somesh Kumar is one of the most trusted lieutanants of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He was given the key responsibility of GHMC and there were also allegations that Somesh Kumar is working too much in the corporation to please KCR.
However Somesh Kumar was allotted to Andhra Pradesh during the division of IAS officers between both the states. Somesh Kumar continued with Telangana government appealing against the allotment with the CAT. The tribunal cited two examples on the grounds which his objections can be overruled.
CAT mentioned about how objections of a few officers where ignored when Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar. And another case is an SC order that made it clear that no bureaucrat has a legal right to demand a place of his choice to work. Only 16 officiers of the total 638 All India Services officers divided between AP and Telangana states are having objections. So Somesh Kumar’s objection may be overruled.
