Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti seem to be in no mood of leaving any chance to increase their numbers. Besides the defections, the party is contesting all the by-elections occured due to the death of a sitting member, leaving aside the tradition of making such elections unanimous. TRS recently did that in Narayankhed and won the election.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning the same in Paleru which fell vacant due to the sudden demise of Congress MLA, Ramreddy Venkatreddy. Congress requested in the floor of the house for unanimous election but the Chief Minister did not respond. He reportedly asked Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao to get ready for the election.
There is a buzz that Tummala Nageshwar Rao’s son may be fielded here in the by-election. However this will be a big problem for Congress party which is already struggling in the state despite being the main opposition party in the state. The by-election according to the rules must happen in the next six months.
