After nearly one and a half years since Janasena commander Power Star Pawan Kalyan applied to the Andhra Pradesh state Election Commission for his party's recognition which will let him contest in civic and legislative polls, the AP EC has finally recognised Janasena as a registered political party.
After Pawan applied for his party's AP registration on December 10, 2014, the EC sought objections if any from common people. A person named D Krishna from Gajjanapadu village in East Godavari raised a few objections and Janasena party gave its explanation to the EC.
Content with Janasena's response, the EC opined that there won't be any legal obstacles for Janasena's registration and duly completed the process yesterday. However, the EC has so far not allotted any election symbol for Janasena and also told the party officials that they cannot choose whichever symbol they want.
In a consolation, the EC would favour Janasena over independent candidates while allotting the election symbols. Janasena has already been recognized by the Telangana State Election Commission and with the latest recognition in AP, the party has completed its entire registration process and got a national party status.
