A Russian billionaire organized screening of a film 'The Man Who Knew Infinity', a biopic on great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. According to the reports, IT biggies like Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Mark Zuckerberg, Google founder Sergey Brin, Oculus VR CEO Brenden Iribe and many other members of Silicon valley joined the screening in Los Altos.
The movie was so touching that it moved Sundar Pichai and Mark Zuckerberg and they have pledged to form a foundation in the name of Srinivasa Ramanujan. They were highly connected to the movie on the life of a 25 year old clerk and self taught mathematician, who dropped out of college for his obsessive study of mathematics.
Ramanujan contributed number theory, infinite series and continued fractions along with mathematical analysis, though he did not have any training in pure mathematics. He died in 1920 at the age of 32 and Dev Patel played the role of Ramanujan.
