Naidu’s idea brings triple benefit for AP

cbnAndhra Pradesh government is keen to carry out the Capital construction by effective use of resources in hand. The cash strapped state already made farmers partner in the capital by adopting land pooling strategy and now shifted its focus on to the construction.

The state government is planning to make use of about 71 lakh cubic meters of sand and silt is available in Krishna River from Prakasam barrage to Vaikuntapuram village for Amaravati capital city construction. The dredging will begin in January.

According to the initial estimates, the sand dredging will cost nearly 300 Crore for the state government while the government may gain Rs 750 crore from sand sale operations. The dredging will also increase the water storage of Prakasam Barrage which will help the farmers.
