Andhra Pradesh government had bagged central funding of 1.93 Lakh houses in the state amounting to 2897 Crore. This is more than 75% of Center’s allotment to the ambitious scheme. On the other side, Telangana just managed over 10000 houses and Telangana leaders have already started foulcrying about Center favouring AP. But the facts reveal otherwise. Perfect home work by AP government made this possible.
When Center announced the Housing for All scheme, AP government formed two committees and sent the proposals of the schemes like building houses in the land owned by the beneficiaries, getting funding from banks to the houses etc. The committees sat with the concerned central government departments and clarified all their doubts and with all that hard work, they pulled of this spectacular feat.
Further Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu repeatedly followed up the issue with Union Urban development Minister Venkaiah Naidu repeatedly. Venkaiah also helped the state as the approach is transparent. It is evident that lack of proper work on the scheme left Telangana behind.
