YSR Congress had met with a miserable defeat in Warangal by-election. Forget about splitting the opposition votes, YSR Congress struggled to make its presence felt in the elections. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy despite the floods in Andhra Pradesh, kept it aside and campaigned for the party in Warangal for four days.
But all this did not help the party in any way. A totally unknown party, Shramajeevi Party is ahead of the YSR Congress candidate in winning the votes reveals the plight of YSRCP in Telangana. While Shramajeevi Party managed 28540 votes, YSR Congress candidate only bagged 23,352 votes
The party did not have even a candidate to contest the election but the party leadership forcibly fielded Nalla Surya Prakash paying all the election expenses. This result will shatter the whatever little hopes of resurrecting the party in the newest state of the country.
