AP Chief Minister Naidu is leaving no stone upturned to make Amaravati a dream ‘People’s Capital’. For this he is reportedly going to seek the help of internationally acclaimed designer Rajiv Sethi to give an aesthetic touch to the design inspired from the models of ancient civilization cities Harappa and Mohenjodaro.
Those ancient cities were built based on grid plan in which with blocks divided by a grid of straight streets. In Amaravati’s latest plan, the grid will be formed when the streets run at right angles to each other. Such grid plans had been popular and give scope for a well built city with all the future chances to explore and expand.
Naidu seems to be keen on taking the best of our ancient culture and add the latest technology. This model is going to be aesthetically done with ancient design and strengthened by using latest technology which might make Amaravati in par with the greatest cities of Golden Era like Taxila, Nalanda and Gandhara. Great going indeed!
