The descendant of Kshatriya rulers in Mandhya Pradesh and Telangana Congress in-charge Digvijaya Singh has been given Below Poverty Line (BPL) family status by his native Madhya Pradesh as well as union governments.
Not only him, his son and brother were also brought under BPL category in the list announced by the MP government recently. He wondered why his family names were included in the poor list when all of them are paying income tax promptly every year.
He tweeted "GOMP and GOI includes my name, my brothers name and my son's name in BPL. We all are income tax payees."
AICC President Sonia Gandhi's close aide Digvijaya said he never applied seeking poor status to the government. He demanded apology from the officials and government for the mistake committed . He also threatened to file a defamation case against the government.
